All through June and July, Wolf Kino and the Good Templar space close by are going to focus on the symbiotic research of sound and image. Sound artists like F.M. Einheit, Stella Chiweshe, and Phoebe Killdeer have a week to get inspired to create a piece of music by a film. FM Einheit (Einstürzende Neubauten) will make music to accompany Dziga Vertov‘s MAN WITH A MOVIE CAMERA (1929), the Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop will make music for Chantal Akkerman‘s film D‘EST (1993), mbira master Stella Chiweshe will accompany James Benning‘s experimental film 11x14, and Swedish composer and saxophone player Otis Sandsjö will accompany the images of Nikolaus Geyrhalter‘s HOMO SAPIENS (2016). The ex-Nouvelle Vague singer Phoebe Killdear and ex-Party Diktator Ole Wulfers have been working together for some time and will accompany Michelangelo Frammartino‘s essay film LA QUATTRO VOLTE and lastly Paul Frick will play to the images of Véréna Paravel und Lucien Castaing-Taylor‘s LEVIATHAN. In addition to the closing performance there will be a public work-in-progress rehearsal for each project along with talks and workshops.
