Film as art and films about art. On October 10th-27th the DokuArts Festival will take place at Berlin‘s Zeughauskino, showing challenging documentaries that deal with art and artists. ARCADIA by Paul Wright is a psychedelic trip through British documentary films to the music of Adrian Utley (Portishead) and Will Gregory (Goldfrapp). In THE EYES OF ORSON WELLES Mark Cousins presents the filmmaker as a caricaturist and in UP THE MOUNTAIN Zhang Yang depicts an art school in a remote village. There are 25 films from 17 countries in total and on Friday, October 11th there will be an international symposium to accompany the films which among other things deals with this year‘s motto, which is nuance.
