30 years ago - Berlin Film Festival 1989

30 years ago the Berlinale took place in a divided city for the last time and films from the USSR were still being shown. Kino Krokodil is showing a series of films that were screened at the festival during that time. The focus, as always, is on the eastern world. There‘s the heavily allegorical film SLUGA - THE SERVANT by Vadim Abdraschitow which won the Alfred Bauer Prize, Aki Kaurismäki‘s laconic masterpiece ARIEL, and Krzysztof Kieslowski‘s A SHORT FILM ABOUT LOVE.
