Mega Time Squad

More

Wannabe gangster John (Anton Tennet) robbed a Chinese antique trader for his idiotic boss Shelton (Johnny Brough). He took money and a bracelet and doesn‘t want to deliver the loot. Shelton caught wind of this and now John is in danger of being drowned by Shelton‘s henchmen. Luckily he met his own clone just a few minutes ago who whispered to him to press a button on the stolen bracelet in the right moment. The moment has come, John presses it, and evaporates...only to come back to the same spot a few minutes before. So he survived, but he realizes that this is just a copy of himself, and that now the hint-giving clone and his original self exist in parallel.

At this point you‘ll either be fully out or a total fan of the time travel scenario. It doesn‘t stay with just the three Johns of course. Soon there‘s a “mega squad“ of Johns who try to outsmart everyone else and then themselves to get the money and the heart of the far too smart Kelly (Hetty Gaskell-Hahn). MEGA TIME SQUAD (written produced, and directed by Tim van Dammen) is a quotable retro film made with a small budget and a lot of passion by people who love the b-movies of the 80s and 90s. Unfortunately the infantile humor of this film is also stuck in the past. As a fan of time travel films and/or shallow humor it might be best to shut your brain off for 80 minutes. It doesn‘t always have to be like INTERSTELLAR.
