Wannabe-rockstar Dave takes on a job as driver for his nephew's Kindergarten-excursion. Maybe it is not quite how he imagines his life but the upside is that he gets to spend time with the lovely Miss Caroline (Lupita Nyong'o). There is little time for romance though, when zombies start appearing and Dave and Caroline have to be brave and inventive to keep the children safe. And then there is also childrens television personality Teddy Mc Giggles (Josh Gad), who could get eaten by zombies, as far as Dave is concerned.
