Frustrated and burnt-out Captain Willard (Martin Sheen) is tasked with tracking down and killing Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando) who has "gone native" and formed his own cult. But as Willard is faced with the insanities which make up "normal life" in times of war, he starts to question whether one can still judge people "insane" in this context.
